And So It Begins…

And So It Begins…

I can think of no appropriate header image, so enjoy the adorable kittens. In fact, I have no solid ideas as to what should be in this post, but I feel like there should be some sort of introduction. So I’ll answer a few basic questions.

 Who are you?

Look up. Way up. OK, not that far. My name is on the site. I’m a computer programmer and web developer, currently looking for work. I’m a science-fiction and fantasy fan, avid reader, and play video games. I’m not a Big Bang Theory character, but there are similarities.

What do you want?

After more years than I’m willing to admit here working for a web development company, I decided that it was time to have a web site of my own. I’ve always liked the idea of writing something, or at least to have written something, and there are technologies I’d like to learn that are much easier with a site of my own to tinker with.

Why are you here?

I worked on a custom content management system for a long time. It worked, but I knew I could do much better if I had a chance to start over from scratch. On top of that I considered WordPress the competition, my mortal enemy. After years of planning to build my own site from scratch though, I finally gave in, and I have to admit it’s pretty slick and easy to use. This site is more about writing than coding, at least for the moment, so it’s only a little hypocritical.

Where are you going?

Supper, soon. As for the site though, I’m not entirely sure. I’m probably going to write about the books I read, and I’m planning a long (very) series about video games. I may write about other things of interest to me if I feel I have something worth saying. If I get brave it’s possible I’ll attempt some fiction writing on here in the future.

Are you a Babylon 5 fan?

Yes. It’s been many years since I watched it, but I still remember a few things about it. Why do you ask?
